30+ Years of Service to Phoenix and the World
The Phoenix Arcadia Rotary Club is proud of our rich history of service to our community and the world.
LOCAL SERVICE
In recent years, our club has been active in providing resources to youth in the greater Phoenix metropolitan region through multiple projects throughout the year.
Among other projects, highlights include:
Packing food for families in need at the St. Mary's Food Bank
Volunteering for Creighton Family Resource Center
Volunteering for Assistance League
Cornhole Tournament for United Way
Funding scholarships to area students through the Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona
Collecting shoes and supplies for local Phoenix school children through our If the Shoe Fits Project
Sponsoring a family in need with wrapped presents over the holiday season
Generating civic engagement through a hosted essay contest at local middle schools
Hosting (for three consecutive years) our annual PARC Walk, held each spring at the Phoenix Zoo.
These are just a sample of our local community projects, and we are actively adding more that match the charitable interests of our members.
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE
The Phoenix Arcadia Rotary Club has a rich history in international service. By leveraging Rotary International's enormous resources, the Phoenix Arcadia Rotary Club has been able to accomplish projects in communities around the world.
Our charter member and past District 5510 Governor Norma Taylor-Roderique spearheaded the building of the Heather Kinross Rotary Village, a community in Cuauneutla, Sierra Norte de Puebla, Mexico, which has approximately 100 houses, a school and several enterprises.
We were awarded and administered several large grants to supply medical equipment and supplies to the Hermosillo Children's Hospital in Mexico and several large grants to provide medical equipment and supplies to Nicaraguan Hospitals.
We hosted visitors from many countries including Bolivia, Rwanda, Pakistan, India, Russia, Mexico, Brazil and Great Britain.
